Joining the Den: Assistant Principal Edition

Greenville ISD is excited to announce several assistant principal appointments and campus leadership transitions for the 2026-2027 school year.

The appointments include both new additions to Greenville ISD and current assistant principals transitioning into new leadership roles across the district.

Bartee

Dr. Leeann Bartee β€” Assistant Principal, L.P. Waters Early Childhood Center

Dr. Leeann Michalak Bartee joins Greenville ISD with more than 20 years of experience in K-12 education, including work as a campus administrator, school improvement consultant, and executive coach. Throughout her career, she has led school improvement efforts, supported instructional growth, and coached educational leaders across the country.

Dr. Bartee holds a Ph.D. in K-12 Educational Leadership and brings extensive experience in instructional improvement, teacher development, and building strong school communities.

Washington

Jelesa Washington β€” Assistant Principal, Crockett Elementary

Jelesa Washington returns to Greenville ISD, where she first began her educational career as an ACE aide at Crockett Elementary. During her previous time in the district, she served in several instructional leadership roles, including ACE site coordinator, teacher, instructional coach, and Interim Principal during the development of the district’s Head Start grant.

Washington most recently served as an Assistant Principal at South Grand Prairie High School. She brings a passion for student achievement, instructional leadership, and building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families.

Livolsi

Donna Livolsi β€” Assistant Principal, Greenville Middle School

Donna Livolsi joins Greenville ISD with 18 years of experience in education, having served as both a teacher and instructional coach throughout her career. She brings a strong focus on student growth, relationship-building, and supporting teachers while fostering a positive and engaging school environment.

Livolsi earned her Master of Education degree from the University of Phoenix and later completed her Educational Leadership Certification through Angelo State University. She believes strong relationships, collaboration, and encouragement are key to helping students succeed both academically and personally.

Jones

Haley Jones β€” Assistant Principal, Lamar Elementary

Haley Jones will transition to Lamar Elementary after previously serving as Assistant Principal at Greenville Middle School. With 16 years of experience in education, Jones has served students at both the elementary and secondary levels and is known for building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.

Jones is passionate about supporting student growth academically, socially, and emotionally while helping create positive and encouraging campus environments where students feel valued and supported.

Murillo

Yanelda Murillo β€” Assistant Principal, New Horizons High School

Yanelda Murillo will transition to New Horizons High School after serving the past five years as Assistant Principal at Crockett Elementary. Murillo earned her bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Dallas and later completed her Master of Education in Educational Administration through Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Murillo brings a strong commitment to student success, relationship-building, and supporting students through every stage of their educational journey.

Greenville ISD Superintendent Dr. Joe Lopez said the district is excited to continue strengthening campus leadership teams across Greenville ISD.

β€œThese leaders each bring valuable experience, strong relationships, and a deep commitment to supporting students and staff,” Lopez said. β€œWe are excited to see the impact they will make on their campuses and throughout Greenville ISD.”

Greenville ISD looks forward to welcoming these leaders into their new roles as the district continues preparing for another successful school year.
